Thanksgiving 2010

Doesn't seem right to post these pictures with Christmas a week away...but I actually took less than 50 photos over the course of the weekend (compared to 300-400). So it was a breeze picking out a few favorites.
Such a pretty table!
Our first Thanksgiving hike!
Wonder what Maggie is thinking..

Christmas Card Extras

We spent an afternoon on USC's campus taking pictures in hopes of catching something worthy to put on our Christmas card. I took almost 200 pictures. We ended up with about 20 keepers....I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

November

Another month is almost over and I have barely posted...So, here's a wrap up of what we were up to the past few weeks.
Lots of silly play time outside...we have had beautiful weather in Columbia.
Carly went to a cheerleading birthday party. Frances was kind enough to share one of her uniforms. She chanted "We've got spirit, yes we do, we've got spirit, how bout you!" the rest of the day...and refused to take off the outfit as well.

Carly still enjoys practicing the monkey bars.
We kept our pumpkins for at least 2 weeks after Halloween. Carly created about 6 designs for the jack-o-lantern. She and Mike settled on this one.
The kindergarten at Carly's school received an award for their sensory garden. Carly was the girl chosen to represent the class...This was her in her Sunday best for the banquet. She said that adults talked through the entire banquet and that she ran out of food while they were talking...she was not impressed.
Maggie loved playing in the piles of leaves.
Celebrating Mike's birthday. The girls picked their finest dress up clothes for the occasion.
The rock wall in our backyard is completely exposed. Grumps and Mike ripped out the barbed wire fence this fall. Hopefully, we can add on to it one day.
This tree in our front yard was so pretty this year.

Nashville Cousins

Our cousins from Nashville and Oma and Grumps spent 5 days with us and somehow I managed to only take pictures of one event...the zoo...and I only took a handful there.  Lately I've been taking fewer pictures.  I LOVE, LOVE my camera...but sometimes the amount of effort it takes to upload pictures has kept me from shooting.  I'm on the computer enough and I don't want another reason to get on the computer...but then I flip back through my pics and always wish I had more. Good thing Jenna and Oma were around to document all the fun we had together - parks, soccer, backyard adventures, science! Fun times.

This picture makes me laugh. It's like Maggie is a little tiger cub.

Who knew feeding goats could be so fun?

Halloween 2010

Somehow Carly managed to go trick or treating 3 times between Friday and Sunday. Maggie would have been right by Carly's side if she hadn't been side tracked by a yucky sinus infection. Luckily, she had already trick or treated 2 times before Halloween night - so, I don't think she realized that she missed anything.  Below are some pics from Boo at the Zoo. These pictures need to be cropped/red eye reduced/etc...sorry! I want them to be posted before Christmas!

Maggie LOVED the eeky freaky dance party. She would have danced all night if we hadn't lured her away with candy.
The girls outfits coordinated really nicely this year.  I wish I had taken the time to get some better pictures.  I'll close with Carly's signature pose.

October

Where did October go? It seems like this month just started yesterday. Here's some pics of what we were up to the first 3 weeks of this month. Below was a group of friends who came over one Friday afternoon to watch the local highschool homecoming parade. The parade was a huge hit mainly because the amount of candy that was thrown from the floats.

We had a day off from school and decided to check out a farm about an hour away from Columbia. The farm adventure began with a tractor ride, corn maze, pumpkin patch, and then ended with a very unique playground.

I don't know what to call this playground item...it felt like a blob...it was like walking on a big bubble. You wanted to jump - but it was like that feeling in the elevator when you jump and your feet never leave the ground. We all gave it a try - even the moms.
Cow train! We all rode - even the moms.  The driver was pretending that we were on a tube in the lake - he was doing way too many figure eights and circles! The girls loved it! Our day ended with this cow train.
